Cap is reddish brown, this one is a twin, others were single. Found with birch and oak, taste is mild.
Still learning about kremlas. The cap skin doesn’t reach all the way down, so kantkremla? Is it a different species due to the darker red-brown color, unlike the pork meat pinkish color of the kind I found previously? Or are they all considered kantkremlas?
Thanks!
kremlor
Thank you for the info and the English names, I was able to find a site called First Nature that lists an abundance of kremlor to study. That was very helpful, thank you all!
I’ve read about some other kremlor that look very similar to kantkremla (to my newbie eyes), many not being edible, so I want to make a ‘checklist’ that I can take with me—-to be sure.
So to reiterate (I am concentrating only on kantkremla, learn as much as possible on this one before I move on to others): kantkremlor: Hat skins (usually or always?) don’t reach all the way to the rim. Not juicy or fibrous. Does not bruise. Mild taste. Is that correct?
